Nice staff, good pricing and a rather broad selection. The only thing to keep in mind is to ALWAYS check expiration dates. I have once bought pancake mix which was expired:( nevertheless, I always come here to pick up my favorite Reese's puffs
Tjin’s Toko has all the Mexican ingredients you could hope for, and then sum. What I expected would take several trips, to different stores, was all managed by Tjin’s Toko! I’m grateful for the huge time savings but also the friendly owner and staff members. It’s clear that he cares a great deal about he products he sells.
What can I say... They carry Heinz 57. I love them for it.
Fantastic little shop, the staff is super friendly and accomodating. They have all the basics for many asian and latin american cuisines. If they don't have something they can order it for you and in a week or two you will have it. They also have a little snack bar and cold drinks.
Good place to shop for spicy sauces
I absolutely love this place. I can find the most missed American products and the basic ingredients for Mexican food! The prices are very fair and the staff is very attentive.PS they have corn tortillas, which are impossible to find in Europe
Found all the old expat goodies! Also sells fresh home made corn tortillas!!
Great place to get Mexican supplies among other countries. Great food and very affordable. An for fresh corn tortillas!
Great range and does home delivery too!
If you’re an expat who misses something from home, this tiny shop will likely have it. One of the only places in town to buy tamale ingredients and enchilada sauce. Big Latin and Asian goods selection. Be prepared to pay he premium, though.
One of my favorite stores in Amsterdam. It's amazing how much international food from all over the world is stocked in this small store. I come here primarily for Mexican spices, tomatillos, and lots of Indian stuff. Friendly, helpful staff. Good prices.
Best toko in town, becides the usual they have the best peper sauce's, fresh Mexican produce (!!!) even Annie's mac & cheese..
Being an American in Amsterdam I can definitely reccomend this place to anyone who is homesick and missing real food!
Nice store with a wide variety of international food products on offer. The best part is the buffet tho - so many tasty sandwiches it's hard to choose the right one. One of the decent and fairly priced snack options in De Pijp.
Good assortment, good food and good people!
Finally a place to find ingredients for mexican cuisine.
Great international store with sections from many other counties. Really nice to have a place to get some familiar foods when living abroad. Prices are also fairly reasonable considering they are importing name brands from other countries in limited quantities.
Super choice (wide range) of products, very friendly and helpful staff, also in these exceptional times.
Very nice sandwiches and drinks available
From an African perspective, no variety. I went specifically for Plantains and found only 2 pieces. I guess it's a good shop for Asian stuff.
Best Mexican products (Tajin, Valentina, pulparindos, la costeña, doña chonita, tortillas de maiz) , people is super nice and the variety is great.
Amazing place for ericans to get some of your favorite foods you have been struggling to find since moving to Amsterdam. Great location and a super friend staff. The food is a bonus.
Fantastic shop! Has everything you’ll need for a Michelada made in the right way! They are a convenience store and a take away restaurant! Brilliant to find in Amsterdam!
The worst webshop in the world. Spend two hours searching for stuff on their site - not easy, as each time you try to buy something, it returns you to position one in your previous search, so you have to spend ages getting back to the same place each time. And once you have your shopping trolley full, congratulations, but don't dare to go away for 30 minutes, as it will be deleted and you will have to start again.
Good food friendly staff
Good selection of international foods including Asian and Latino. A bit pricey but understandably so.
Good store with a great selection of (North and South) American and Asian food products. Some great fresh items products as well, refrigerated and fresh to eat (toko) items, yum. Very friendly staff
Love the spicy tempeh sandwich!
Nice little shop in De Pijp. There is food from many different countries, ideal if you miss something from your your original country: Mexican tortillas, American cookies, English tea, spice from all over the world,...It's quite small but I really like it and recommend it.Central location
Reasonable. Obviously quite some articles out of stock. Failing management?
In love with this place. The hot sauce selection is the best I've found in Amsterdam so far–lots of habanero sauces, some imported, some locally made. They sell Mexican staples as well (actually imported from Mexico) that have been hard for me to find in holland. Corn tortillas, chipotle pepers in adobo sauce, etc. I've quickly become a regular.
Caveat emptor - Let the buyer beware!!Bought (expensive) corn tortillas here - just took them out of the fridge (I had said freezer previously but it was the fridge) without checking - will NEVER do that again. They were out of date by more than a week!
Get takeway. Huge inventory in tbe shop.
Love this shop with variety of products from several countries.
You've got everything you need here to stock up your kitchen. Even better, a place to get fresh food on the go. Great kip roti, noodles, bara, and honey-roasted pork (and I've got so much more). Yum!
You will find everything for your authentic Mexican dinner and good Asian food selection too. Their lunch is also very good, simple and tasty street food. Highly recommended!
They have alot of exotic food items and spices which you cannot get in regular supermarkets
We often go during work lunch time. Food is served fast and also tasty
Good family owned Indonesian Toko ( buffet style where you can pick the elements of your dish) or order sandwiches with Indonesian fillings, a marriage of colonialism! The store carries a selection of Asian, North and Latin American ingredients. This was the only place I was able to find in Amsterdam where I could find the herbs I needed for cooking an Indonesian curry. The family running the place is always kind and helpful. The chef even popped out of the back to give me cooking instructions for my curry â¤ï¸
Awesome little shop in de Pijp. They sell take away food and many interesting international foods as well
I haven't gotten one of the products I payed for and they ignore my E-Mails. They told me I would get a refund, but I got nothing. I'm angry.Edit: Thank you for your pleasant response. I finally got a refund. Very late, but better than never.
Best shop ever! Shipping extremely fast (international), delicious food (CHEETOS AND TAKIS)... love that! look forward to my dolares ;)
Tasteful lunch boxes!
As usual simple, but great tasting Surinam / Chinese choice of fillings for your bread buns or lunch boxes. Also the store houses a variety of other Asian and Mexican(!!) produce. Staff is fast, helpful and knowledgeable. The picture shows a well filled and moist baozi (broodje bapao).
They have so many different exotic ingredients. The dried and smoked peppers are impossible to find where I live, so I bought lots!
Very good selection of International foods at fair prices. Also serves nice, freshly prepared, sandwiches. Staff are very friendly and helpful.
Great food for affordable prices, best served hot. Feels like eating at gran's with cool hip-hop and RnB playlist in the background. Plus: vegan option here 😋
A neighbourhood gem. Grab a delicious and cheap Surinamese broodje for lunch and don’t forget to head behind the counter to the only shop in the city with a wide selection of Mexican imports—they even have fresh tomatillos! You can also find American, English, Chinese, Japanese, and other imports making it a very versatile destination for international chefs. The staff is very friendly and aways happy to help, too!
The rice boxes here are amazing... the dishes are so tasty and wholesome that it evokes feelings of home and childhood.Literally happiness and gezellig in a box.
Can't express the gratitude I feel for the mere existence of this shop. Missing your Mexican homeland? Get some salsa verde, some mole, blue-corn flour, valentina, it's up to you. Not the cheapest, but way cheaper than a trip home. Also, get some empanadas while you're exploring what cravings are you satisfying today. You may even find fresh tomatillos and poblano peppers. Awesome place.
